Arbor Day and Stand for Children Day 2001 at the Tok Memorial Park Wednesday, May 30, 2001 Sponsored by the Tok Lions Club, Alaska Power and Telephone, Tetlin National Wildlife Refuge and Upper Tanana Head Start Planting a tree expresses faith that there will be a tomorrow. Share this hope with our Children. Many people turned out for the event to hear stories, have their faces painted, eat lunch and help plant trees in the park.
Lloyd Lehr, one of the founding members of the first Tok Lions Club, joined in the festivities by cooking the hotdogs on the grill. It was a very special treat to have Lloyd there to share the day!
