2001 Pumpkin Carving Contest

Seventh and Eighth Grade students gathered in the home-ec room on Oct. 30 to carve up the pumpkins supplied by the Tok Lions Club. They were having so much fun that they didn't hear the bell signaling the end of the school day. As they continued working on their pumpkins and cleaning up, the school buses loaded up and left without the entire class. Poor Mrs. Abel! Mr. Kron, being the awesome principal that he is, warmed up the school van and drove home the students who didn't have rides.

The entries were too dificult to judge, so the entire 7th and 8th grade classes will be awarded an ice cream party for their participation in this project. Great job, kids!

Here are some pictures of the students working on their pumpkins...

Peter MacManus concentrates hard while Keil Zimlich and Joe Tilden watch.

Peter and Joe clean out the pumpkin.

Jessica and Brandon Bates pour out the innards.

Crissy McDermott, Heather Cornelius and Mary Mitchell scoop out the "icky stuff."

Rebecca Maynard, Emily Gingue, April Brooks, James Raber and Teddy Hanson having a hard time getting the "lid" to come out.

Mr. Faga helps the group decide which design to attemp.
